French graphic designer Rene Mambembe has created a series of minimalistic illustrations that depicts key events in history.
Titled ‘Iconostory’, his clean and simple designs take us back to historic moments such as the Jurassic age, World War II and the founding of Facebook and Google.
“As [an] information designer, I challenged myself to sum up key events into illustrations and icons,” wrote Mambembe. “This iconostory allows people to know some events mainly during 19th century. It can also be [used] to illustrate events in newspaper or in animations.”
