Photographer Nick Albertson, who’s based in Chicago, captures hypnotizing abstract images of everyday objects found in the office.

According to the photographer—in his series entitled ‘Work in Progress’—he uses the likes of straws, envelopes, napkins, and rubber bands as his ‘brushstrokes’ to create resulting images that are similar to that of modernist paintings.

By using the same identical looking objects for each of his photographs, and layering and arranging them to form repetitive patterns—could it be that he’s subtly making a commentary on the ubiquitous, mundane day-in-day-out office life?
