Gandalf
Phillip Lauer and his wife Sue, a couple from California, have an unusual hobby: for the past six years, they have been dressing up their three pet pugs—Blue, Bono and Roxy—as fictional characters, rock stars and even royalty.
As big fans of the Lord of the Rings fantasy films, most of the latest outfits they have designed for the pugs are inspired by the characters of Middle Earth—for instance, their favorite costume is that of Boromir.
In addition to their ‘Pugs of Middle Earth’ series, the creative couple have also transformed their pugs into fashionable trendsetters, lifeguards and even mushrooms.
To capture these adorable outfits for posterity, the Lauers have even built a custom studio at their family home in Sonoma County, California, to take photographs of professional standards.
