If you've never seen a moth properly up-close (because they fly too quickly or because you swat them away too fast), this is your chance.
Canadian photographer Jim des Riviéres has put together a collection of high-resolution, large-format stills depicting an array of different varieties of moths.
The stills stand out and are noteworthy because of the skill and precision with which they were taken. According to des Riviéres, he hopes his work can represent "the arresting beauty and surprising diversity of moths from the Ottawa region."
Altogether, des Riviéres has catalogued almost 300 different species of moths from the 2,000 specimens he has collected.
