It may not be the personalized jetpacks we wished for when we were younger, but flying bicycles are certainly good enough.
Three Czech companies teamed up to develop this 'flying bicycle' which recently completed a successful five-minute test flight.
Weighing 209 pounds, the flying machine consists of six battery-powered propellers. However, the batteries are not yet powerful enough to carry a human, so a dummy was used for the test flight.
Strangely, the bicycle doesn’t seem like a necessary part of the flying machine, so perhaps it could be modified into something safer and more comfortable to ride.
Nevertheless, it is still an interesting proof of concept that might just lead to personal flying machines in the near future.
