Scrabble and Ogilvy Paris created a campaign that encourages proper spelling by rewarding people with free WiFi.
Called ‘Scrabble WiFi’, they set up WiFi hotspots in areas of Paris that didn’t have WiFi connections.
To access these specific hotspots, people had to prove their spelling skills by playing Scrabble on their cellphones to unlock a special password.
With every correctly spelt word, they would receive free WiFi minutes—allowing them to remain connected to the network for a longer period.
Looks like proper spelling does have its benefits after all.
