Based in Berlin, artist Daniel Schwarz uses his keen eye and Google Maps to create ‘Juxtapose’, his latest series.
As the name suggests, Schwarz’s series showcases two contradictory landscapes in one frame.
In each shot, the left half of the frame is shows a different climate and time of the day from the right half of the frame, almost as though two parallel universes have been joined together.
This occurs while Google Maps is being updated, with Schwarz making a virtual world tour to find more glitches.
While stunning and beautiful, this series also serves as environmental commentary since there are now different ways to interact with the physical environment.
