New York City-based design agency Sagmeister & Walsh may have found a ‘revealing’ way to attract new clients.
For the agency’s official staff photos, all six employees posed nude—the full monty.
This nude ‘tradition’ reportedly began 19 years ago when founder Stefan Sagmeister started the company.
After leaving his previous job at bigger firms like Leo Burnett and TBWA, Sagmeister sent out a naked picture of himself to promote his newly founded firm.
When Jessica Walsh became his partner last year, they decided to re-make the original photo that Sagmeister did.
According to a video by The Creative Influence, Walsh said, “Within an hour of sending out that email blast, we were getting thousands of blogs and retweets”.
She added, “In that aspect it was quite a functional piece of design.”
It also seems like their nude approach worked for the agency—some of its high-profile clients include Universal Music, Levi’s, The Rolling Stones and BMW.
What do you think of its nude approach?
