Istanbul-based Turkish digital illustrator Ercan Akkaya has re-imagined famous superheroes in the 8-bit style of retro video games.
Having gotten used to seeing superhereos “in the flesh” in movies, Akkaya’s minimalist, pixelated characters—that strips each one of these well-known personalities to their essences—are rather refreshing.
Each superhero, having retained their key custome traits and colors, are instantly recognizable even without having to be named.
