London-based artist Andrea Hasler has created a series of replicas of luxury shoes and bags to resemble meat.
This series of work is titled Burdens of Excess, and it is a statement against consumerism. Hasler fills a gallery in Los Angeles with exclusive ‘fashion products’ that resemble minced meat stuffed in a shoe, or a bag.
One thing to note though, the work is not actually created with real meat. It is created with a special type of wax that evokes a realism to her sculptures.
The exhibiton will open for show from 7 June to 10 August at the GUSFORD gallery in Los Angeles.
